Job description
TechBiz Global is currently seeking an Engineering Officer to join one of our clients’ teams in Malta.
The Engineering Officer will be responsible for supporting the maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and documentation of Quality Control equipment and laboratory instruments. This role is important for ensuring that equipment remains fit for routine use, interventions are completed on time, and all activities are carried out in line with EU GMP standards, internal SOPs, and quality management principles.
The ideal candidate will have an engineering background, hands-on experience in a manufacturing or testing environment, and strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform preliminary troubleshooting of Quality Control equipment when required, in line with EU GMP standards and service provider training/warranty requirements.
Follow up on equipment intervention requests in STORM and ensure timely completion by service providers.
Monitor and control the STORM system, ensuring service providers meet turnaround times agreed in the relevant Service Agreements.
Coordinate with and accompany third-party service personnel during interventions on Quality Control Department equipment.
Trend intervention data related to Quality Control equipment to ensure equipment remains fit for routine use and to support business continuity.
Perform routine calibrations and calibration checks on Quality Control equipment.
Carry out repairs and maintenance on laboratory equipment and instruments.
Follow, document, and record all activities accurately according to relevant Standard Operating Procedures, Test Methods, and Protocols.
Prepare and maintain documentation related to temperature mapping studies for laboratory areas, equipment, warehouses, loading bays, and secondary packaging areas according to schedule.
Carry out all duties professionally and in the best interest of the company.
Perform any additional duties assigned by the Engineering & Facilities Manager.
Job requirements
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or testing environment.
Fluent English, both written and spoken.
Strong commitment to quality and compliance.
Excellent attention to detail.
Strong planning, organisational, and time-management skills.
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and demanding environment.
Able to balance priorities, maintain accuracy, and meet challenging deadlines.
Nice to Have
Experience working in a GMP-regulated environment.
Experience with Quality Control, laboratory, or pharmaceutical equipment.
Previous experience using STORM or similar maintenance/intervention tracking systems.
Knowledge of calibration, maintenance, and temperature mapping processes.
