Key Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and impartial medical interpretation via VRI and OPI

  • Maintain confidentiality and follow professional ethics and HIPAA

  • Use correct medical terminology and appropriate tone in both languages

  • Support clear communication between patients and healthcare providers

  • Apply cultural awareness to ensure mutual understanding

  • Use VRI/OPI platforms and tools effectively

  • Follow client protocols, schedules, and quality standards

  • Participate in training and quality improvement activities

Job requirements

  • Proven interpretation competence (accurate meaning transfer, strong listening and speaking skills)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Interpreting, Linguistics, Language Studies OR a related field with 2+ years of professional interpreting experience

  • Strong linguistic and vocal competence in both working languages

  • Solid domain competence in medical/healthcare interpretation

  • Cultural competence across source and target language communities

  • Technical competence using VRI/OPI platforms and digital tools

  • Ability to conduct rapid terminology research during or between sessions

  • Professional communication and time management skills
