GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Head of the Electronics and Hardware Department is responsible for managing the department and ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals. This role involves supervising staff, overseeing project execution, and ensuring quality assurance in product and service delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
Coordinating with the CEO and department heads to achieve company objectives.
Supervising departmental staff and managing task execution.
Participating in project meetings and working groups.
Liaising with suppliers for equipment, consumables, and service procurement.
Implementing and maintaining quality assurance procedures.
Overseeing project management for departmental tasks, product development, and R&D initiatives.
Managing in-house production processes for hardware and electronics products.
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with the CEO and internal department heads for strategic planning and execution.
Lead and manage research projects and departmental tasks.
Supervise and mentor departmental staff, ensuring effective training and professional growth.
Ensure workplace health and safety compliance for the department.
Establish and maintain communication with suppliers and collaborators for procurement and manufacturing.
Conduct quality assurance testing on products and services.
Participate in the company's quality assurance committee and working groups.
Organize and oversee in-house production of hardware and electronics products.
Lead project teams to meet goals and deadlines using effective project management methodologies.
Uphold confidentiality and ensure secure handling of company data and operations.
Adhere to and enforce company policies and staff regulations.
Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or outlined in company procedures.
Job requirements
JOB SPECIFICATION
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering (required).
Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering (required).
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Research and Development (R&D) activities (required).
At least 2 years of industry experience in engineering roles related to the production or development of electronic devices (required).
Certifications:
Project Management Institute (PMI) certification (preferred).
Skills & Competencies:
Strong leadership and management capabilities.
Excellent project management skills with experience in hardware and electronics development.
Proficiency in quality assurance and compliance standards.
Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders effectively.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
