Job requirements

• Knowledge of Linux: RedHat, Ubuntu, Debian, etc.

• Experience with hardening configurations

• Experience with MySQL and/or MariaDB, and ideally Galera Cluster.

• Familiarity with Proxmox Virtual Environment management and concepts.

• Knowledge in Shell, Perl, and/or Python scripting

• Knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTPS, LDAP, SMTP and SNMP

• Knowledge of IT security principles, secure protocols, encryption fundamentals, Linux hardening

• Participate in evolving the Simartis products from an operational and security perspective

• Strong analytical skills

• Willingness to learn

• Adaptability, Organization, ability to communicate with less technical colleagues

• Strong problem solving skills

Key Responsibilities / Duties

  • Install and configure Linux systems

  • Proactively maintain and improve Linux infrastructure to ensure 24x7x365 uptime and service availability

  • Maintain best practices for managing systems and services across multiple environments

  • Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, and hotfixes on servers, workstations, and network hardware

  • Provide internal and external technical support and guidance

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of support activities and operational processes

  • Design and develop infrastructure monitoring and reporting tools

  • Develop and maintain configuration management solutions

  • Build, deploy, and monitor services on production servers

  • Participate in developing and maintaining backup, replication, clustering, and failover strategies

  • Create and modify scripts or applications to automate operational tasks

  • Manage Kubernetes and containerized environments (e.g. Docker)

  • Monitor and optimize system performance in agile and highly flexible environments

  • Recommend improvements related to stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of infrastructure

  • Configure and maintain VPN connections (IPSEC / Fortigate) between internal and customer environments

  • Demonstrate strong understanding of networking principles and design infrastructure solutions based on business and technical requirements

  • Apply network security best practices, including network segmentation

  • Implement and configure proxies, reverse proxies, firewalls, and load balancers

  • Gain deep understanding of company products, technologies, business logic, and technical architecture

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop automation strategies and deployment processes

  • Participate in on-call rotations and support critical production incidents

  • Monitor live production systems, troubleshoot issues, and respond to customer support tickets

  • Contribute to building and maintaining CI/CD infrastructure and deployment pipelines
